This construction project was a complicated ‘footprint’ build which incorporated the demolition of an existing six storey RC frame structure. Before forming the new foundations (consisting of 20m deep piles over the Northern Underground Tube line, and its associated restrictions), we then built a new 9 storey RC frame, with stepped aluminium cladding and a standard fit out.

The mechanical and electrical solution had to encompass a minimum of 20% renewables (to remain compliant with Building Control) this was achieved with air source heat pumps which intern delivered 30% renewable energy for the building. We provided enhanced insulation treatments and electrical energy control to achieve a code for a sustainable housing, resulting in a rating of 4.

The images opposite detail the finished building, which was finished 3 months ahead of schedule.
