Archway Heights, Islington, London
Archway Heights is a £4.2M new build residential development in Islington, London. It comprises 25 no. sustainable and affordable apartments designed for Key Workers in the area. The new build also has a unique design that includes a staggered high insulation aluminium cladding system. This helps to minimise noise and provides an eye-catching elevation that features a layered and sculpted facade.
This construction project was a complicated ‘footprint’ build which incorporated the demolition of an existing six storey RC frame structure. Before forming the new foundations (consisting of 20m deep piles over the Northern Underground Tube line, and its associated restrictions), we then built a new 9 storey RC frame, with stepped aluminium cladding and a standard fit out.
The state-of-the-art nine-storey building was designed to meet Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. It was developed on a site owned by Origin Housing, in association with Islington Council.
The building provides panoramic views across London. Residents therefore, can see the Olympic Park, Canary Wharf and through to West London from the upper floors.
The build was completed 3 months ahead of schedule.
