This former public house was situated in a busy high street location which backed onto a heavily used A road. This sites position meant that we faced many logistical challenges and also partly determined our selection for offsite manufacture of a timber frame build.

We were tasked to erect a commercial space with a basement and tiered 4-3-6 storey building, working from front-to-back. This did prove to be somewhat challenging because of the building movement (70mm+) and maintaining the buildings integrity over several stories. We were able to solve this issue through a combination of render and brick panels which both have different rates of movement compared to a traditional timber frame.
